In the small town of Jajpur, a tragic incident has left the community in shock. A man named Santosh Malik was found dead, and the police have made a breakthrough in the case. According to an officer, five people have been arrested for allegedly poisoning Santosh to death.
The arrests were made after the autopsy report confirmed that Santosh was indeed poisoned. Among the arrested individuals is Prasant Malik, the younger brother of the deceased. The other accused named in the FIR were on the run since the complaint was filed. Jajpur Town SDPO Prasant Kumar Majhi shared this update, shedding light on the situation.
The five arrested individuals have been identified as Prasant Malik, Purnachandra Malik, Gajendra Malik, Kailas Malik, Sanatan Malik, and Prasant Kumar Malik. They all belong to the Arangabad-Anandpur village in Bari block, as confirmed by the police. It was discovered that Prasant Malik had a history of violence, having physically assaulted his sister-in-law over a property dispute in the past. He was arrested and sent to jail, but upon his release, he sought revenge against his elder brother.
With the help of some villagers, Prasant and the others planned to harm Santosh. They called him to an isolated spot near their village under the guise of settling their issues. On the night of October 18, Santosh was offered liquor laced with poison. He consumed it and returned home, but soon after, he began to experience stomach pain and started vomiting. He was rushed to the Bari Community Health Centre, where he passed away on October 18.
Bandana Malik, the wife of Prashant, filed a complaint with the local police, accusing her brother-in-law Prasant Malik and seven others from their village of poisoning her husband. The police immediately took action, seizing the body and conducting a postmortem at the district headquarters hospital. The results confirmed that it was indeed a murder.
The community is deeply saddened by this tragic incident, and the police are working diligently to bring justice for Santosh's untimely death. It is a reminder to always seek peaceful resolutions and not resort to violence and revenge. May Santosh's soul rest in peace.
