The fire required the response of at least five fire engines, along with water tankers and other firefighting vehicles, which were all promptly dispatched to the scene. It took over four hours for the blaze to be fully extinguished, with the fire department finally declaring it under control by 8:10am.
Authorities suspect that the fire originated from a garment unit within the compound, which specialized in making frocks and other types of clothing. Along with the fire department, the city police, staff from the local civic ward, and ambulances also arrived at the site to assist with the situation.
