FF16 is doing poorly & the reader is happy about it.
When Final Fantasy 16 was announced, I was excited to see what the game would bring. As a long-time fan of the series, I was hoping that it would stay true to the Final Fantasy roots. Unfortunately, this was not the case.

The graphics were undoubtedly impressive, but the game lacked the atmosphere that I'd come to expect from a Final Fantasy title. With Game of Thrones as the main source of inspiration, the game just didn't feel like a proper Final Fantasy.

The combat was praised by many, but I just didn't feel like it was a true Final Fantasy experience. Unlike previous games, you only ever control one character, making it feel more like an action game than a Japanese role-player. It would have been nice to see some turn-based elements, as that is what defines a Final Fantasy game.

The story was overly long and incredibly confusing. The dialogue was poor, and the voice-acting was surprisingly mediocre. I felt disconnected with the characters and the story, and I just couldn't get into it.

Final Fantasy 16 was definitely a flop. It didn't do as well as Square Enix had hoped, and I'm glad that it didn't. I hope this encourages Square Enix to embrace the weirdness and wackiness of the Final Fantasy franchise, and to create a game that stays true to its roots. The game should have a proper party of characters, and it should embrace the fantasy elements.

I would love to see a remake of Final Fantasy 6, as it is one of the best games in the series. But I would much rather see the magicpunk setting of Final Fantasy 6 inspire a new game, with new gameplay and characters. That's the only way to move the series forward.

Overall, I'm disappointed with Final Fantasy 16. I was hoping to see a game that stayed true to the Final Fantasy franchise, but that just wasn't the case. Hopefully, Square Enix will take this as a learning experience and create a game that embraces the fantasy and wackiness of the series, while still creating something new.
