In a tragic incident that occurred on Wednesday, four individuals tragically lost their lives while 28 others were injured in a pickup van accident in the Gajapati district of Odisha. According to the police, the accident happened at Chiting Ghat in the Mohana police station area.
The unfortunate accident took place when a group of 36 villagers from Ramagiri were on their way to Chandragiri to attend a funeral ceremony. The driver of the pickup van suddenly applied brakes, causing the vehicle to overturn. The four individuals who lost their lives have been identified as Basanti Bhuyan, Chandrma Bhuyan, Radha Kudumba, and Haribandhu Gamang, all aged 60. While two of them passed away at Chandragiri Community Health Centre, the other two were referred to MKCG Medical College and Hospital for further treatment. Sadly, they also could not survive their injuries, as confirmed by a police officer.
