The popular TV show, Celebrity Race Across The World, has captivated audiences with its intense competition between some of the biggest stars in the entertainment industry. These celebrities have shown their determination and clever tactics in order to come out on top and claim victory. The show, produced by BBC, challenges teams of two to travel to a destination on the other side of the world with a tight budget and limited information, all while competing against other teams.

In the current season, we see celebrities such as broadcaster Jeff Brazier and his son Freddy, Heart radio host Kelly Brook and her husband Jeremy Parisi, actor Kola Bokinni and his cousin Mary Ellen, and BBC Radio 2 host Scott Mills and his husband Sam Vaughan, battling it out to reach the final checkpoint first. Kola, who stars in the hit show Ted Lasso, shared how competitive things got when they were traveling from Belém, Northern Brazil to Frutillar, Southern Chile.

According to Kola, when the teams would reunite at various checkpoints, they would try to gauge how well the others were doing, but no one was completely honest. "No one was being truthful to anyone when we saw each other," Kola revealed. He also shared the secret tactics they used, saying, "It was always like 'Oh, how much is in your wallet?' It was always trying to get information out of each other, just to get that edge." Mary Ellen added to this, saying that they would try to gather information about routes and finances "on the sly."

However, instead of giving away their own plans, each contestant would put on their best "poker face." Mary Ellen humorously shared, "It was poker faces galore. Everyone would be throwing curve balls going 'Oh God I'm running out of money!' It was really, really funny. It became just one big poker game, to be honest." When asked who was the most competitive in the cast, Kola quickly pointed to Jeremy, saying, "He's a lovely guy, I love the guy to death. But he is very competitive."

This competitive energy did not always match with Kelly's more laid-back approach and desire to take in the sights. Kola and Mary Ellen even adopted this method, which resulted in them reaching the first checkpoint 12 hours after their competitors. Despite this, Kola admitted that he also had a strong desire to win, saying, "I'm not going to lie to you and say that I didn't want to win. Everyone has their moments, and I have a lot of competitive moments."

Apart from the intense competition, the show also delves into the personal lives of the contestants. In a recent episode, Freddy, Jeff's son, opened up about his mother, the late Jade Goody, and how her death at a young age has affected him. Freddy shared that he was only four years old when his mother passed away from cervical cancer, and it was especially difficult as it happened on Mother's Day. He also revealed that he prefers to keep his emotions to himself, saying, "I don't really like showing my emotions. I don't even speak to my dad much about my mum either. I just avoid it. I prefer to bottle it up."

Freddy also shared that most of his memories of his mother come from watching documentaries and videos, as he was too young to remember much. He said, "I don't really remember being held by my mum. If I had more memories of her, it would have made it a whole lot harder for me." Despite the challenges he has faced, Freddy has accepted his reality and is grateful for the memories he does have of his mother.
