Everyone would be throwing curve balls going 'Oh God I'm running out of money!' It was really, really funny. It became just one big poker game, to be honest." When asked who was the most competitive in the cast, Kola quickly pointed to Jeremy, saying, "He's a lovely guy, I love the guy to death. But he is very competitive."
This competitive energy did not always match with Kelly's more laid-back approach and desire to take in the sights. Kola and Mary Ellen even adopted this method, which resulted in them reaching the first checkpoint 12 hours after their competitors. Despite this, Kola admitted that he also had a strong desire to win, saying, "I'm not going to lie to you and say that I didn't want to win. Everyone has their moments, and I have a lot of competitive moments."
Apart from the intense competition, the show also delves into the personal lives of the contestants. In a recent episode, Freddy, Jeff's son, opened up about his mother, the late Jade Goody, and how her death at a young age has affected him. Freddy shared that he was only four years old when his mother passed away from cervical cancer, and it was especially difficult as it happened on Mother's Day. He also revealed that he prefers to keep his emotions to himself, saying, "I don't really like showing my emotions. I don't even speak to my dad much about my mum either. I just avoid it. I prefer to bottle it up."
Freddy also shared that most of his memories of his mother come from watching documentaries and videos, as he was too young to remember much. He said, "I don't really remember being held by my mum. If I had more memories of her, it would have made it a whole lot harder for me." Despite the challenges he has faced, Freddy has accepted his reality and is grateful for the memories he does have of his mother.
