It hasn't been an easy ride for Max Turner lately on Coronation Street. He found himself in a difficult situation after taking the blame for a murder he didn't commit, in order to protect someone else. But things took an unexpected turn when the real culprit, Lauren Bolton, came clean and showed her confession letter to Shona Platt.
Once David Platt got his hands on the letter, he did the right thing and handed it over to the police, resulting in Lauren's arrest. But Max's troubles were far from over. In tonight's episode, he returned home, unaware of the betrayal that had taken place. Shona was worried about how he would react when he found out about David's actions.
Unfortunately, Max's freedom was short-lived. He was brought in for questioning by DC Kit Green, who revealed that Lauren had not actually turned herself in. And to make matters worse, Max was now facing a charge of perverting the course of justice for lying to the police.
Feeling betrayed and angry, Max wasted no time in confronting David and storming out to clear his head. He found himself at the cafe, where he finally got the chance to speak to Lauren on the phone. It was then that he learned about her fears of losing her son, Frankie, and asked Max to take care of him if things didn't go her way.
Back at the Platt's, Max made it clear to David and Shona that he would take in Frankie if necessary, despite David's horrified reaction. Max believed it was the least he could do after David's actions. But the question remained, would Lauren be able to keep her son, or would Max and David have to step up and take care of him while dealing with Max's own criminal charge?

Despite Lauren's application to have Frankie stay with her in the mother and baby unit, she still had doubts about the outcome. But she found comfort in knowing that Max would be there to take care of her son if needed. Max, David, and Shona were left to deal with the consequences of their actions, all while trying to do what was best for Frankie. Only time will tell if Lauren will be able to keep her son or if Max and David will have to step up as his guardians.
