England faces flood warnings after intense rainfall of half a month in one hour.
The effects of the heavy rain and thunderstorms have been felt across England in recent days. Woodhouse Mill recorded 35.6mm of rain in just one hour - that's nearly half a month's worth of rainfall! The Met Office has issued a warning for the whole of England and Wales, as well as Northern Ireland, where there is a risk of flooding, travel issues and power cuts.

The heavy rain put an end to the Ashes Test at Edgbaston, and festival-goers at the Isle of Wight Festival were also left feeling soggy! Despite the bad weather, temperatures have remained at a balmy low twenties throughout Father's Day.

Met Office forecaster Marco Petanga said: "We've seen 15-20mm, even 30mm in an hour in quite a few spots, and that's certainly going to cause some flooding problems. It's pretty torrential, and there's still potentially bad conditions to come."

The Met Office is warning us to take extra care, with six flood warnings being issued across parts of Northern England and a heavy rain warning for Northern England and Scotland. The warnings are in place from 7pm today until noon on Monday, and they warn of heavy showers, frequent lightning, strong winds and hail.
