Edinburgh's Meet Fresh receives positive review.
When Meet Fresh, a popular Taiwanese dessert and bubble tea shop, first opened their pop-up store at Ikigai Ramen's basement, they had no plans of staying for long. Their initial plan was to only stay until the end of January. However, the warm reception they received from the people of Edinburgh made them rethink their decision. The traditional desserts and drinks served by Meet Fresh had won the hearts of the locals and as a result, they now have a permanent location at 13 W Richmond Street in Newington.

We were lucky enough to be invited to their new location for a sneak peek and to taste some of their upcoming seasonal drinks and desserts. As we entered the restaurant, we could see that it was bustling with customers. The small seating area in front of the counter was almost full, so we decided to order and wait downstairs for our treats.

One of the staff members recommended the Yuzu Lemonade with Coconut Jelly, and I must say, it was a brilliant suggestion. With the first sip, I could taste the tangy and citrusy flavors of the lemonade, but the unique taste of yuzu stood out on its own. It was a refreshing and delightful drink.

If you're a fan of passionfruit and jasmine, then you have to try their Passionfruit Jasmine Tea. It had real pieces of passionfruit in it, which perfectly complemented the floral taste of jasmine tea. We were also given the option to add coconut jelly into our drinks, and it definitely enhanced the sweetness without overpowering the main flavors.

Next up, we tried the Matcha Souffle, which was creamy and sweet. The thick cream melted in our mouths, and the addition of red bean on top gave it a nutty flavor without being too sweet. However, the real star of the show was the Crème Brule Souffle with Boba. It was a perfect combination of soft fluffy pancake, creamy custard, and burnt sugar, all topped with chewy boba. It was like eating a brown sugar milk tea in dessert form, and I couldn't get enough of it. I will definitely be back for more.

Both the drinks and souffles were perfect additions to their spring and summer seasonal menu. They are the perfect treats to enjoy on a sunny day or to lift your spirits on a gloomy one. And if you're eager to try their menu, make sure to mark your calendars for April 17th, when their seasonal menu will launch. Plus, for the first two days after the launch, Meet Fresh is offering 50% off their souffles to their first 50 customers.
