In order to avoid heavy rush in regular trains, the ECoR is also planning to run single trip special trains to important destinations. Some of the special trains include Sambalpur-Kacheguda, Khurda Road-Secunderabad, Bhubaneswar-Pune, Bhubaneswar-Mumbai CSMT, Puri-Paldhi, Bhubaneswar-Chennai, Sambalpur-Chennai, Bhubaneswar-Bengaluru, Brahmapur-Kacheguda, and Sambalpur-Bengaluru.
One of the highlighted trains is the 08420/08419 Bhubaneswar-Mumbai LTT weekly Summer Special, which will depart from Bhubaneswar at 11:00 pm every Wednesday between May 8 and June 26, 2024. In the return direction, the train will leave from LTT at 1:20 pm on Fridays between May 10 and June 28, 2024. Similarly, the 07035/07036 Secunderabad-Brahmapur-Secunderabad Special will depart from Secunderabad at 8:45 pm on May 11 and 14, with the return train leaving Brahmapur at 4:45 pm on May 12 and 15. The 09059/09060 Surat-Brahmapur-Surat Special will depart from Surat at 2:20 pm on Wednesdays between May 22 and June 26, 2024, with the return train leaving Brahmapur at 4:30 am on Fridays between May 24 and June 28, 2024.
Other special trains include the 06107/06108 Chennai Egmore-Bhubaneswar-Chennai Egmore, which will depart from Chennai Egmore at 10:30 am on May 11 and June 1, 2024, with the return train leaving Bhubaneswar at 9:30 am on May 12 and June 7, 2024.
