Doctor and malaria inspector in Madhya Pradesh sentenced to 4-year rigorous imprisonment for negligence.
Dhar: On Monday, a First Additional Sessions Judge sentenced a doctor and malaria inspector to four years of rigorous imprisonment under the Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988. Additionally, both of them were fined Rs 2,000 each for accepting a bribe amount of Rs 26,000.

According to Deputy Director Prosecution TC Billauray, Nitesh Dashodhi lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta Office in Indore in July 2017 against the doctor, Mohan Gupta, and the malaria inspector, Arvind Joshi, accusing them of demanding a bribe.

In response, a trap team was constituted and a successful trap was laid on July 21, 2017. The accused were arrested while demanding and accepting the bribe. During the trial, the court found them both guilty and convicted them of the crime. They were sentenced to four years of rigorous imprisonment and fined Rs 2,000 each.

The incident serves as a reminder of the importance of upholding the law and reporting any suspicious activities to the appropriate authorities. The court's ruling should also encourage other individuals to report any form of bribery or corruption they witness in the future.
