The United Nations, a good idea at its inception in the aftermath of World War II, has now ripened into its logical conclusion: time to wind it up and shut it down. Let’s land this plane.
The UN was a great idea in the aftermath of the greatest war in history when the world did not have the travel, communication, and technology capabilities it has today. It was a place for world leaders to come together en masse, maintain a permanent presence, and reasonably talk through their issues face-to-face.
It was a place for developing and mature nations to arbitrate their differences with the elders (the victors from World War II) in the room.
Now, with the advent of efficient air travel and the ability to literally speak to a foreign leader in real time face-to-face via Zoom or other conferencing software and gear, the necessity to come together in a single place has been overwhelmed by technology.
It is time to shutdown the United Nations and replace it with a digital solution.
Allow me to provide a specific example of the corruption of the UN. The UN has two different organizations:
1. The United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR)
2. The United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA)
Both of these agencies within the United Nations deal with the subject of refugees.
1. UNHCR deals with refugees in the Middle East and North Africa.
In 2023, UNHCR spent $2,400,000,000 to meet the demands of 15,000,000 refugees.
Those refugees were in Syria (7,000,000), Sudan (5,000,000), Iraq (1,500,000), and Lebanon (1,000,000).
2. Meanwhile, the UNRWA deals with refugees solely in Palestine (Gaza).
In 2023, UNRWA spent $1,300,000,000 to meet the demands of 6,000,000 Palestinian refugees. BTW, I think the 6,000,000 number is bogus, but that’s just me. Only 2,200,000 people live in all of Gaza.
Why not combine these two organizations as they both deal with refugees, you might ask, right?
1. This would politically dampen the light on Palestine if they were thrown in with the programs in Syria, Sudan, Iraq, and Lebanon.
2. UNRWA operates through the Palestine Authority (the political administrators of Gaza, like a City Council) rather than directly with refugees.
3. The Palestinian Authority is controlled by Hamas — the supposedly “political” wing of otherwise rabidly murderous Hamas. Cough. Cough.
4. Hamas with its control of the local administration in Gaza is able to divert UN and other nations’ funds to nefarious things like: lining Hamas leadership pockets, killing Israelis, building tunnels, building rocket launching sites, sending fire balloons to Israel, and launching missiles at Israel (see “killing Israelis” earlier).
Ahhh, my dear reader, yes indeed, it gets worse.
In the recent murderous attack on Israel on 7 October some of the murderers, rapists, beheaders, immolators, and scumbags were full time workers for . . . wait for it . . . UNRWA!
A dozen attackers have been identified by their dead bodies while the Mossad believes that as many as 200 were Hamas/UNRWA workers.
To put that into perspective, UNRWA has 13,000 employees in Gaza.
In 2023, the United Nations Assembly (its legislative body as opposed to the Security Council) passed 21 resolutions of which 14 were against the nation of Israel.
Total resolutions passed by the UN Assembly in 2023: 21
Resolutions passed against Israel: 14 — 67% of all business before the United Nations Assembly!
In addition to the 14 resolutions against Israel, the remaining resolutions were against North Korea, Iran, Syria, and Myanmar plus:
1. A resolution condemning Russian aggression in Ukraine
2. A resolution condemning Russian violence in Crimea
3. A resolution condemning the United States for its continuing embargo of Cuba
Who was not condemned? China for human rights violations or for threatening Taiwan, Hamas, Iran for being the world’s largest funder of terrorism (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis), Russia for assassinating Putin’s political rivals, Turkey for its savagery against the Kurds, Saudi Arabia for its murder of journalists, Venezuela for its suppression of dissidents, Syria for its ongoing civil war and the use of chemical weapons, Cuba for its continuing enslavement of its people, South Africa for its race wars on its white population, the Houthis for attacking shipping, the Mexican cartels — the list could go on and on.
What the UN Assembly did do was sanction Israel for an oil slick that washed up on Lebanon’s shores in the year 2006!
It is time to shut down the anti-Semitic Israel hate operation that is the United Nations.
Ahhh, dear reader, the BIG QUESION?
The United States pays approximately $15,000,000,000 to the United Nations which represents 22% of its general budget and also provides 27% of the UN’s peacekeeping budget.
Most of that money is voluntary, meaning the membership prescribed formula provides a much lower number for US involvement and the US provides the balance voluntarily.
To put that in perspective, the entire US foreign aid program funding is slightly more than $50,000,000,000 annually.
China paid less than $500,000,000 to the United Nations and is assessed with 15% of UN peacekeeping costs.
1. US pays $15,000,000,000 ($15B) and 27% of peacekeeping assessments.
2. China (admitted since October 1971 when the General Assembly voted them in and Taiwan, the Republic of China was booted out — truly cowardly act) pays less than $500,000,000 ($0.5B) and 15% of peacekeeping assessments. BTW, China is notoriously keen to reduce its UN contributions.
3. Russia pays less than $60,000,000 annually.
This is important because all of the United States, China, and Russia are permanent members of the UN Security Council and enjoy a veto power over “major” or “substantive” resolutions.
A rational thinking man would conclude it is time to shut down the United Nations and replace it with a digital solution.
1. The UN has outlived its purpose.
2. The UN is corrupt.
3. The UN is wildly anti-Semetic.
4. The UN is disproportionately funded by the United States and the BRICS boys are not paying their fair share.
5. The US is disproportionately funding the United Nations and is not receiving proportionate clout having the same vote as much smaller contributors.
6. Digital technology exists that makes the United Nations archaic and obsolete. Let’s go digital.
Close the United Nations and get everybody a pro Zoom account.
But, hey, what the Hell do I really know anyway? I’m just a Big Red Car.
Post Script – One of the great mistakes made in the world is the admission of despotic regimes to organizations (United Nations, Olympics, G7/G30, WHO, etc) otherwise people by civilized nations. This experiment simply does not work; the uncivilized, barbaric, medieval countries are not tempered by hanging out with the good guys.
