CUET-UG results declared by NTA.
In a much-awaited announcement, the National Testing Agency declared the results for the Common University Entrance Test -UG on Sunday. This marks the beginning of the undergraduate admission process, which has been delayed this year. The NTA had previously released the provisional answer keys of the CUET-UG 2024 on July 7 and conducted a retest on July 19 for over 1,000 candidates whose grievances were deemed genuine.

The delay in the CUET-UG results was met with controversy as there were allegations of irregularities in other competitive exams such as NEET-UG and UGC-NET. Originally scheduled to be declared on June 30, the NTA faced setbacks due to these allegations and had to push back the announcement. The exams were also affected, with the CUET-UG being cancelled in Delhi the night before its scheduled date due to logistical reasons. It was later held in the national capital.

This year, the CUET-UG was conducted in a hybrid mode for the first time across the country. The NTA had assured that the third edition of the exam would be completed in just seven days and there would be no normalization of scores as all exams were conducted in a single shift. Out of the 63 subjects, 15 were held in pen-paper mode while the remaining 48 were conducted in computer-based mode. Impressively, over 13.4 lakh candidates registered for the test this year, hoping to secure admission to undergraduate courses in 261 central, state, deemed, and private universities.

However, this is not the first time that the CUET-UG has faced challenges. In its first edition in 2022, the exam was plagued with technical glitches, leading to a lot of frustration and disappointment among the candidates. Moreover, due to the tests for certain subjects being held over multiple shifts, the scores had to be normalized during the announcement of results. Nevertheless, the NTA remains committed to providing a fair and transparent testing process for all students.
