Critics slam Katie Price's decision to purchase expensive dog while her cat is still missing, calling it irresponsible.

Katie Price has recently faced criticism from animal rights activists after her husband announced the loss of one of their pets. The former glamour model, who is 48 years old, has been accused of buying a new dog in Dubai while her cat, Doris, is still missing. It was only a few days ago when Katie took to Instagram to share that two of her Sphinx cats had either gone missing or were stolen.

While one of them returned, there was no update on Doris. However, instead of searching for her missing pet, Katie and her husband, Lee Andrews, have been in Dubai and have bought a new puppy for £2,000. Their purchase of a male Pomsky, a cross between a Pomeranian and a Husky, has sparked outrage, especially due to Katie's controversial history with pets.

Peta UK's Senior Vice President, Mimi Bekhechi, expressed her disapproval in a statement shared with Metro, saying, "Is there no low to which Katie Price will not stoop?" She further added, "While one of her cats, Doris, is reportedly still missing, instead of being worried sick and out searching for her, as any caring, responsible guardian would, she has flown to another country and acquired a new dog, as easily as one replaces a pair of socks." It has been reported that Katie and Lee Andrews have purchased the dog together, as Katie has been busy flying back and forth to Dubai after her husband was detained there. This has left their pets at home with someone else. On her Instagram story, Katie posted a video of a dog that resembled a Husky, with a big "sold" sign on its kennel window.

This would be their first pet in Dubai, where the couple seems to be building their life. Mimi Bekhechi expressed her concern about the choice of breed, saying, "A Pomsky of all animals, in the Dubai heat, to add insult to injury." She also questioned how many animals have suffered under Katie's "care" before authorities ban her from owning pets. Peta has previously offered £5,000 to Katie in exchange for her signing a legally binding agreement to never acquire another animal.

Mimi urged Katie to take up this offer for the sake of Doris, their new puppy, and any other animals that may cross her path. The news of their new puppy and missing cat has come just days after Lee was released from detention and claimed that one of their eight cats had passed away. However, this has not been confirmed by Katie herself.

Doris, the Sphinx cat, had gone missing or was stolen. In her plea for help, Katie asked anyone in the area to return Doris to Arun Vets in Storrington. She wrote on her Instagram Story, "I came to Dubai on Wednesday, and my cats were home on Tuesday night.

I live in a private area, and my cats don't just disappear. Whoever has them, please return them. They are my babies." In a later update, Katie revealed that one of her cats, Eilleen, had returned home.

She posted a video of Eilleen drinking water as the UK heatwave continued. However, there was still no update on Doris' whereabouts. Eilleen had also gone missing but has since returned.

Katie has pleaded for her pets to be returned to her. Despite the sad news of their missing cat, Katie has continued to post on her social media, promoting CBD oil and sharing a picture of her and Lee's hands, calling him "the best husband." She wrote, "Completes me in every f**ked up way. Met my perfect match, and nothing will defy us." She also shared a picture of her daughter, Princess, who was sporting long blonde curls, but still no update on Doris.

Katie's history with pets has been filled with tragedies, with at least eight animals known to have died under her care. In November 2017, one of her horses was killed on the A24 after escaping from its field. In February 2018, her dog Queenie was hit by a car near her home, and she blamed a delivery driver for leaving the gate open.

In November 2018, she claimed that her family's pet chameleon, Marvin, died from a broken heart after her children moved in with her ex-husband, Peter Andre. In February 2020, her Alsatian Sparkle died after escaping and being hit by a car. In July 2020, her daughter's puppy, Rolo, suffocated when it got caught in the mechanism of an electric-powered chair.

In November 2022, her Pomeranian, Sharon, was hit by a car and killed. In June 2023, her dog Blade was also run over on the same stretch of road as Sharon. And in August 2025, Doris gave birth to a premature kitten that did not survive.

The string of tragedies has led to over 37,000 people signing a petition to ban Katie from owning pets in 2020, with a new one created in 2025. Peta has also offered £5,000 to Katie in exchange for her signing a legally binding agreement to never acquire another animal. However, Katie's representative has stated that she has asked Peta to have a direct conversation with her, but they have chosen to play out the narrative in the media instead.

Katie has continued to keep animals, including her four cats, although Lee recently claimed that one of them had passed away. Katie has not confirmed this news, other than Doris going missing while she is away. Metro has reached out to Katie's team for comment.
