A shocking story has come out of Georgia, where a doctor is accused of turning a baby delivery into a gruesome experience. Jessica Ross and Treveon Isaiah Taylor Sr., the parents of the newborn, have filed a lawsuit claiming that Dr. Tracey St. Julian used too much force and decapitated their baby during delivery.
Attorney Cory Lynch, who is representing the couple, spoke passionately at a press conference about the tragedy that had befallen them. “They were so excited about the birth of their first child,” he said. “Unfortunately, their dreams and hopes turned into a nightmare that was covered up by Southern Regional Medical Center.”
The lawsuit alleges that the baby got stuck during delivery, and St. Julian delayed a surgical procedure to assist, instead using “ridiculously excessive force” to deliver the baby. Southern Regional Medical Center released a statement saying they could not discuss the patient treatment due to privacy laws, but they sent “heartfelt thoughts and prayers” to the family. They added that St. Julian was not an employee of the hospital and would not elaborate on if the board-certified obstetrician and gynecologist was part of a health care group called Premier Women’s Obgyn.
To add insult to injury, the lawsuit is accusing the hospital staff of trying to cover up the decapitation. The couple asked for an autopsy, but were discouraged from doing so and instead were encouraged to cremate the baby's body. The body was then wrapped and propped to make it appear that the head was still attached.
