Couple arrested in Mira-Bhayandar for operating a sex racket disguised as an event management firm.
The Mira Bhayandar-Vasai Virar police's Anti-Human Trafficking Unit (AHTU) has made another high-profile arrest in Kashimira, Wednesday. Two people, identified as Shahrukh Khan alias Aayan and Rehana Sultana alias Jyoti, were apprehended for their involvement in a prostitution racket.

Reports suggested that they were using social media platforms and the WhatsApp application to communicate with potential clients. In order to make the arrest, the police team set up a trap using a decoy customer to contact the suspects. After striking a deal, the decoy informed the police team which led to the arrest of the couple.

The police team further rescued three women who were allegedly lured and pushed into prostitution activities. Investigations revealed that the gang was facilitating travel and stay for clients in different locations, including Goa, Bengaluru, Lonavala, Mumbai and Mira Road.

The rescued women were sent to the welfare home in Kandivali, and the suspects were booked under Section 370 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and relevant sections of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act, 1956. The case has been handed over to the Kashimira police station for further investigations.

This is yet another incident of a prostitution racket being busted by the police. It is very important to take necessary steps to ensure that such activities are prevented and the perpetrators brought to justice. The police and other law enforcement agencies need to keep a close watch to ensure that the safety and well-being of citizens is not compromised.
