Seven leading wildlife charities are calling for people to take action and speak out against the plans for a golf course at Coul Links in Sutherland. The organisations, including the National Trust for Scotland, the RSPB and the Scottish Wildlife Trust, are ‘extremely concerned’ about the revised plans submitted to The Highland Council.
Craig Macadam, conservation director of insect charity Buglife, said: “It's incredibly disappointing that our concerns and the reasons for the refusal of the previous application have not been addressed, and that we are having to fight once again to protect this special place.
We must remember what happened at Menie when Donald Trump was allowed to build a golf course there. This reminds us of what Scotland could lose if the new planning application is approved.”
At the same time, Communities for Coul project developer has launched a letter writing campaign in support of their project.
