CIT Roract students share joy at old age home

Monday, Sept. 1: The Roract Club members of Coorg Institute of Technology (CIT) Ponnampet visited Sneha Bhavan Old Age Home in Heggala village and spent time with the elderly.

The students shared their time, effort, energy and talent with the elderly. Roract provided mid-day meal. Along with this, groceries were handed over to the old age home.

The elderly, who welcomed the youth with an open mind, found solace and compassion in their lives. Some students showcased their dance, singing and cultural talents and created moments of laughter in the eyes of the elderly. Some joined hands with the elderly and shared the joy. The smiles on the faces of the elderly and the happiness in their eyes reflected the significance of the program.

Principal Dr. M. Basavaraj was present at the program and spoke and appreciated the service spirit of the students. The time, love and effort given by the students have brought a new light in the lives of the elderly. He said that true service to the society means handing over happiness from the heart.

The program was successfully conducted under the guidance of Prof. Kalpita Uthappa and Prof. Suman. Other members of the club, led by Roract President Don Devaiah, heard about the arrangements in the old age home and the life experience of the elderly.

The elderly shared their life experiences with the students, life lessons and values.
