During a rally in Koraput, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai expressed the need for a "double-engine" government in Odisha to accelerate the state's development. He pointed out that despite the abundance of mineral resources, forests, fertile land, and water in Odisha, the ruling BJD government has failed to bring about significant progress in the last 24 years.
Sai emphasized that a strong BJP government is necessary in Odisha to ensure speedy development. He cited the example of Chhattisgarh, where the BJP ruled for 15 years and brought about significant development, but when the Congress took over for five years, development activities came to a halt and corruption became rampant. However, since the BJP came back into power four months ago, development projects have resumed.
The Chief Minister highlighted various schemes and programmes launched by the BJP government, such as the procurement of paddy at Rs 3,100 per quintal and initiatives for women and youths. He assured that if the BJP forms a government in Odisha, all schemes and programmes of the Centre will also be implemented in the state.
Sai praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his efforts towards the welfare of the poor in the country over the last 10 years. He urged the people to support Modi for a third term as Prime Minister, stating that he is the best person to lead the country.
The Chief Minister also emphasized that the BJP is the only party that can truly work for the welfare of tribals. He pointed out that a tribal like himself has been appointed as the CM of Chhattisgarh, and a tribal woman has been elevated to the top post in the country. This shows the party's commitment to uplifting and empowering the tribal community.
