Founder and CEO, Candice Ciseaux, has been inspired by the rich history of African design aesthetics, textiles, and culture to create luxury bags that are both stylish and conscious.
“I draw inspiration from my travels to different countries in Africa,” Ciseaux said in an interview with BLACK ENTERPRISE. “My goal is to create a brand that celebrates my heritage and culture, while bringing awareness to the beauty and resilience of Black women.”

Maya Winston, originally from Jamaica, relocated to the Bronx, New York, at 11 and was raised in the fashion center by his mother, a seamstress, and his older sister, a designer. With more than 10 years of experience, he has traveled to Asia Pacific and the Middle East to create and curate his luxury pieces. Founded by Sharlena Bernard in 2004, SOUS SUS was inspired by ballet, where the term “sous-sus” is used to represent rising up on one’s toes with one foot in front of the other. She draws her creative ideas from the sun of her home in California, incorporating high-quality leathers and colorful prints into her designs.
