Cheaters in Call Of Duty beta used PS4 dev kits to gain unfair advantage.

Cheaters are present in the PlayStation-only beta of Modern Warfare 3.
It's another Call of Duty game, and another round of cheaters causing havoc. Unfortunately, this time it's not PC players that are to blame. With the Modern Warfare 3 beta currently exclusive to PlayStation, it's been revealed that some cheaters have been using dev kits to get ahead in the game.

Duqys, a Twitter user, was able to capture their own encounter with a cheater. Thanks to the game's killcam feature, they were able to see that the cheater was able to tell where they were on the other side of a wall and thus knew exactly where to shoot once they became visible.

At first, it was thought that the cheaters were using jailbroken PlayStation 4s, however, it was soon realised that they wouldn't be able to download the beta or connect online with a jailbroken console. The problem, it seems, lies with the dev kits which have fallen into the hands of the fans.

Naturally, other players are incensed, and it's only likely to get worse when the Modern Warfare 3 beta comes to PC and Xbox this weekend. Activision has updated its anti-cheat software multiple times to combat cheaters and have claimed to have banned thousands of them, but it has had little effect.

The idea of someone going out of their way to track down and acquire a dev kit just to cheat in a Call Of Duty beta sounds ludicrous, yet it is still sadly believable. As players on Twitter say, disabling crossplay won't save you this time.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will be launching on November 10th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. Unfortunately, it looks like cheaters will still be present, regardless of the platform.
