Arsenal may offer £64m player as part of swap deal for Julian Alvarez with Atletico Madrid.

According to recent reports, Arsenal Football Club has set their sights on Julian Alvarez as one of their top targets for the upcoming transfer season. It has been speculated that the club is even willing to offer Viktor Gyokeres in an exchange deal with Atletico Madrid to secure the services of the Argentine forward. Although Alvarez has his heart set on a move to Barcelona, Atletico Madrid has been less than pleased with their La Liga rivals' pursuit of the talented striker.

In fact, the club's chief executive, Miguel Angel Gil Marin, has made it clear that they have no intention of selling Alvarez for any price this summer. "Julian is the perfect fit for Atletico Madrid and we have no plans to transfer him. We have already rejected an offer of €100 million and we will not entertain any bids of €150 million or €200 million," he stated last week.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is also a keen admirer of Alvarez and is looking to bolster his attacking options for the upcoming season. It has been reported that the club is willing to spend big on a top-quality player and are even open to offering Gyokeres in a potential swap deal for Alvarez. Gyokeres, who joined Arsenal from Sporting CP for £64 million last summer, had a successful first season with the club, scoring an impressive 21 goals.

However, Arsenal is not only focused on attacking reinforcements, as they are also in the market for a new defender following William Saliba's back injury, which will keep him out for an extended period.
