Lauren Goodger's ex-boyfriend Charles Drury, 26, has appeared in court on Tuesday to face charges of assault and controlling or coercive behaviour. Goodger, who is best known for appearing on ITV's The Only Way Is Essex, is the mother of two daughters - Larose, who is two, and Lorena, who died shortly after her birth last year.
The indictment claims that Drury caused Goodger to fear violence against her and assaulted her, causing actual bodily harm, in the hours after Lorena's funeral in August last year. He entered a plea of not guilty at Snaresbrook Crown Court, where Judge Oscar Del Fabbro released him on unconditional bail until his next hearing on February 12, 2024.
The charges relate to an incident in August where police were called to Upminster, where a woman in her 30s was treated for facial injuries. It was reported at the time that Goodger had been taken to hospital with serious facial injuries shortly after the funeral for her daughter Lorena.
A representative for Goodger previously told The Agency: "Lauren has never commented on this police investigation and will not be commenting on this story."
The couple, who split in January last year, share daughter Larose, who will turn two this month. If anyone is struggling emotionally, they can contact the Miscarriage Association's pregnancy loss helpline on 01924 200799 or email
