Channel 4’s highly anticipated new drama Partygate has finally announced its star-studded cast, including the talented impressionist Jon Culshaw who will be voicing former Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The makers of the Bafta-winning Killed By My Debt, The Left Behind and Murdered By My Father are creating this real-life drama which will be based on meticulous research of the events that took place at Downing Street during the pandemic.
The series will feature re-enactments of the parties that occurred, as well as archive news coverage and documentary interviews. The cast includes Dead Ringers star Jon Culshaw, W1A star Ophelia Lovibond, The Chronicles of Narnia actress Georgie Henley, Quadrophenia and EastEnders legend Phil Daniels, Fleabag and The Witcher’s Hugh Skinner and Ghosts actress Charlotte Ritchie.
Through this drama, Channel 4 intends to juxtapose the revelry that took place inside 10 Downing Street with the suffering and hardship that was endured by the rest of the country. This ultimately led to Boris Johnson’s downfall at the end of last year, which he claimed was ‘forced out of politics’. He was replaced by Liz Truss, however her tenure was outlived by a lettuce. Rishi Sunak then took over in October 2022 without any leadership election.
Partygate is set to air on Channel 4 soon. If you’ve got a celebrity story related to this drama, or any other story, video or pictures, you can get in touch with the The Agency entertainment team by emailing them, calling 020 3615 2145 or visiting their Submit Stuff page.
