Celebs came out to celebrate and show their support for the Girlfriends Pow(H)er Experience and Award Ceremony.
The fifth year of the Tene Nicole Agency's Support Your Girlfriends' Power Experience and Award ceremony was one to remember. Over two days, the event empowered Black women and women of color who are either embarking on entrepreneurship or standing up in established businesses. The programming ended with an honorific evening to celebrate women who have shown excellence in their respective industries.

On the first day, veteran journalist Charreah Jackson led a fireside conversation on “Advocating for Women in Business”. Further discussions on “Entrepreneurship in the Digital Landscape” and how to “Survive and Thrive As an Entrepreneur” were well-attended, with over two hundred women in attendance.

The following day, the Power award ceremony went down at Manhattan’s Dream Downtown hotel. Lyndsay Levingston, host and founder of SurviveHer, opened the floor for the event sponsor Camus Cognac to present the first award. Numerous honors were given to awardees who are fiercely unapologetic. Award-winning journalist Nicole Johnson was praised for her unwavering commitment to journalism. Legendary photographer Rowena Husbands received an award for her unapologetic work in the same industry.

Angela White, formerly known as Blac Chyna, received the Unapologetically Her Award in Entrepreneurship. Charlemagne, host of the Breakfast Club, was awarded the inaugural Powim Award from social justice advocate Tamika Mallory for his spirit of community service and commitment to giving back. Other honorees included Lucinda Cross, Modupe Congleton, Dr. Angela Anderson, Nadine Ramos, and fashion designer Samantha Black among others. Monique Glover and Nadirah Taylor were both Power Up Award winners.

Behind the scenes, the real MVP was Nikkia McClain, founder of Tene Nicole Agency and Support Your Girlfriends Initiative. McClain powerfully brought women together to celebrate themselves and shower them with much deserved recognition. In a room filled with gratitude and appreciation, McClain is the one who should get the unofficial award for her Power moves and making it all possible.
