Viewers of Coronation Street will know that Carla Barlow is no stranger to mental health issues, which made her an easy target for the sick killer Stephen Reid. He was determined to take control of Underworld by making everyone believe that Carla was not up for the task. To do this, he began spiking her with LSD, which induced the same symptoms of her previous psychosis in 2019.
Despite his efforts, Carla has since taken back control of the factory and Stephen has managed to get away with drugging her with no consequences... for now. In upcoming episodes, Carla confides in Roy that she suspects she has been drugged with LSD, after a conversation with her business contact Lou. She realizes that the symptoms of an LSD trip are identical to those of her recent 'psychotic episode'.
