Madikeri, Nov. 5: Hundreds of students participated in the art festival held on Tuesday in collaboration with the district administration, zilla panchayat, Kannada and culture department and various departments.

Hundreds of students participated enthusiastically in the art festival, performing traditional dance on one side, folk songs on the other, painting on the other, Hindustani traditional music.

The art festival held at Gandhi Bhavan in the city was special because group competitions such as child talent, teenage talent and youth talent were held. Speaking at the program, Deputy Divisional Officer Nitin Chakki said that the art festival has been organized to identify and encourage the artistic talent of children and youth and encourage them to improve their artistic skills.

The aim is to increase the self-confidence of children and motivate artists. He said that artistic talents are essential for the development of society, science, technology, sports etc. Students of Kalapratibotsava can develop art, music, dance and many other talents. There are extraordinary talents hidden in the children of Kodagu district. They are increasing the respect of the district through their arts. Defeat or victory is not important. Participating and exhibiting with courage is the most important thing, he said. He hoped that more talented people in Kodagu district will shine at the state and national levels.

Kodagu Janapada Parishad District Unit President B.G. Ananthashayana spoke and said that if you set a goal, you can move forward in life. It is everyone's duty to make good use of opportunities.

Chidananda Kumar, Deputy Director of the Department of Undergraduate Education, said that this platform is a good opportunity to unveil the talents of the children of Kodagu district. Kannada Sahitya Parishad Secretary Munir Ahmed spoke and said that it is important to actively participate in talent festivals. K.R. Bindu of the School Education Department spoke and advised that if you participate in any talent competition, you should participate with the mindset that if you win, you will get an award and if you lose, you will get experience.
