At the ABFF Honors event earlier this month, Tai Beauchamp, Chief Brand Officer of Brown Girl Jane, was a prominent figure, sharing insightful words about living with authority and embracing our God-given destinies. She was invited to the event by Cadillac as a guest, and she glowed alongside their newest luxury electric vehicle, the CELESTIQ. In her speech, Beauchamp beautifully connected her own success in media and business to Cadillac's bold Audacity campaign.
In an interview with Rolling Out, Beauchamp explained, "Audacity is all about standing strong in the face of fear and pushing past it, even when others may not see the potential. It's about recognizing that our destinies are ordained by God and confidently moving forward without any apologies. Audacity is like stepping on the gas pedal when everyone else is telling you to hit the brakes."
Recently, Brown Girl Jane was awarded the Sephora Grant for $100,000 from The Fifteen Percent Pledge, further propelling Beauchamp's success. Along with co-founders Malaika Jones and Nia Jones, she has built a brand that focuses on uplifting moods through their vegan and cruelty-free fragrances. The partnership with Sephora has given Brown Girl Jane a bigger platform and has allowed Beauchamp to showcase her role as CBO, where she oversees the company's growth and impact within major retailers. On the media side, she continues to make an impact through her company Tai Life Media LLC, producing lifestyle and wellness content in collaboration with global brands like Cadillac.
This year marked the second time Beauchamp joined Cadillac at the ABFF Honors as part of her wellness series, Morning Mindset with Tai. Attending the event was a perfect alignment with her work as an entrepreneur in media and her passion for celebrating Black excellence in film and television. "ABFF Honors feels like a homecoming for me. I have been involved in the film, TV, media, and entrepreneurial world, so it's a special moment to be here," Beauchamp shared. "It's a celebration of our Blackness, unapologetically. And it's also a space for us to connect and pave the way for future generations."
During the ceremony, ABFF founder Jeff Friday was honored by his two sons, Ellis and Edison, for his groundbreaking efforts in amplifying Black voices in the film and television industry. For Beauchamp, it was a powerful moment to witness. "Seeing Ellis and Edison Friday honor their father on stage was truly moving, especially because it was two young Black men celebrating an established Black man," she expressed. "We often think of flower-giving as a feminine experience, but our Black men also deserve their flowers."
In other news, Nebraska recently announced that they will be honoring Malcolm X with a Hall of Fame induction and a Day of Honor, a decision that Beauchamp fully supports. "It's important for us to recognize and honor our Black leaders, past, present, and future. It's a reminder of their contributions and the impact they continue to have on our community," she concluded.
