TV legend Anne Diamond recently opened up about her absence from her GB News shows, revealing that she had to be rushed to the hospital. The 69-year-old, who was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2022, shared that the paramedics were shocked when they checked her blood pressure.

According to Anne, her blood pressure was "stonkingly" high and she needed immediate medical attention. She also took the opportunity to remind her viewers about the importance of regularly checking their blood pressure.

During her GB News programme, Anne said, "Some of you have been asking why I've been off. The reason I've been off was a lot to do with stonkingly high blood pressure. While that wasn't the whole problem, and I'm still yet to get a proper diagnosis, it was an enormous part of the problem."

Anne also issued a warning, urging everyone to take their blood pressure seriously. She said, "It just made me think because wherever you go nowadays, in the doctor's surgery or in a pharmacy, there's always a notice up about it. And it doesn't matter how young you think you are, you ought to take your blood pressure. It's an easy thing to do and all the rest of it, but it's clearly an enormous thing blood pressure."

Last June, Anne revealed that she had been diagnosed with breast cancer on the same day she was awarded an OBE. She underwent a double mastectomy and described her journey as "hell."

She shared, "I spent the entire morning at my local hospital where they did everything, biopsies, X-rays, CT scans, a couple of mammograms, everything, and by lunchtime I was still there. And a lovely lady came with a lanyard around her neck that said MacMillan Cancer Care and I knew then it was serious."

Anne also talked about the multiple surgeries and treatments she went through and how difficult it was for her. She also emphasized that she understands the struggles of many other women who are going through the same experience and expressed her empathy towards them.

In her on-screen career, Anne has been a well-known face, hosting shows like Good Morning Britain and Good Morning with Anne and Nick for BBC One. She has also been a presenter on various radio shows and has appeared on panel shows like Loose Women and The Wright Stuff.

Apart from her career, Anne has also been recognized for her work for public health and safety, and was awarded the OBE in the 2023 New Year's Honours list.

In light of her recent health scare, Anne also took the opportunity to remind everyone to take care of their health and to regularly check their blood pressure. She also shared the contact information for Macmillan Cancer Support, a charity that offers support and information to those affected by cancer.
