According to reports, Brad Pitt is growing more distant from some of his children. Once a father of six with a famous last name, it seems that his children are now distancing themselves from it. Maddox Jolie-Pitt, the 24-year-old son of the actor, is the latest to make a change, filing to have his name legally changed to Maddox Chivan Jolie.

The reason listed on the request was simply "personal." This request may not come as a surprise to Pitt, as earlier this year, Maddox was credited in his mother Angelina Jolie's film Couture as "Maddox Jolie," dropping the Pitt surname altogether. He is not the first of the siblings to make this change either. Last year, Shiloh legally changed her name from Shiloh Nouvel Jolie-Pitt to Shiloh Jolie, shortly after turning 18.

Her lawyer explained that it was an "independent and significant decision" and that she was simply following the legal process. It seems that the siblings are all distancing themselves from the double-barrelled surname. Zahara has also dropped the Pitt name and was introduced as Zahara Marley Jolie during a sorority ceremony and her college graduation.

Vivienne appeared as "Vivienne Jolie" in the playbill for a Broadway musical. This makes four siblings with four different variations of the same message. The couple's split continues to have a significant impact on the family, with the growing distance between Pitt and his children being one of the most visible legacies.

Hollywood break-ups rarely stay private, but this one seems to generate headlines consistently. The source of the divide can be traced back to a private jet flight in 2016, and it only seems to have grown since then.
