Black couple partners with PGA REACH to create national golf program for HBCUs to increase diversity in the sport.
Angel Rich-Jones and her husband, Karl Jones, are taking a stand for inclusivity in the game of golf. Both alumni of historically black colleges and universities, Angel and Karl have teamed up with PGA REACH Middle-Atlantic's President, J.P. Lunn, to launch 4tee Acres. This non-profit program provides students with access to quality golf clubs, clothes, and a variety of clinics.

The mission of 4tee Acres is to promote financial literacy, STEM, and golf at Historically Black Colleges and Universities and state schools with the mission to Drive for Diversity and increase Black women in golf. To achieve this, 4tee Acres will provide students with the opportunity to travel for golf tournaments, support recruiting efforts, and build a pipeline to becoming a PGA professional while learning real-world skills.

In addition, 4tee Acres will be launching a golf fashion line specifically catered to Black women. Featuring stylish and form-fitting materials, the line will be suitable both on and off the course. The 4tee Acres team is also excited to announce that they will be supporting veterans through PGA HOPE with mental health and well-being for players and members of their households.

To kick off the program, 4tee Acres hosted the Harlem Globetrotters to teach them how to play golf, led by National African-American Golf Hall of Famer Jimmy Garvin and Howard University’s Assistant Golf Coach Airielle Dawson. This episode is now streaming on Peacock.

Angel Rich-Jones expressed that “expanding opportunities for HBCU students without barriers opens doors for an infinite future of young Black golfers to accomplish new heights and for HBCU golf programs to increase authority as they grow beyond expectation.”

4tee Acres is devoted to promoting equity in golf from students to professionals, and is looking forward to working together to expand diversity across the industry. To learn more about 4tee Acres and their mission, visit their official website at 4TeeAcres.com.
