Bad British drivers caught multi-tasking as they type on laptops and steer with knees.
Some of the most dangerous drivers in Britain have been caught on camera engaging in reckless behaviors, such as typing on laptops and using their knees to steer the wheel. The footage, released by National Highways, was captured by Warwickshire Police officers from an unmarked lorry cab on the UK's motorways.

One incident shows a woman applying make-up while driving on the M40 during morning traffic. She is so engrossed in her mirror that her car swerves and she doesn't even respond when the HGV cab honks its horn. Another shocking moment caught on camera is a van driver eating a McDonald's meal with no hands on the wheel. He can be seen consuming fries with one hand and then picking up a drink with the other. To make matters worse, he even undertakes a lorry as he passes Corley Services on the M6 in Coventry.

In yet another incident, a woman is seen driving on the M40 while scrolling through messages on her phone in one hand and using a laptop with the other hand. At one point, she takes both hands off the wheel, posing a serious risk to herself and others on the road. These are just a few of the 63 offences that were detected in the latest part of National Highways' Operation Tramline campaign.

Matt Staton, the head of National Highways' national road user safety delivery, expressed his concern over these dangerous behaviors. He stated, "We know that these shocking examples are carried out by a small minority and thankfully, most drivers on our roads are law-abiding citizens. However, those who continue to take risks, such as using their mobile phone or taking their hands off the wheel, are putting themselves and others in danger."

He further explained that the week of action is aimed at raising awareness and encouraging drivers to think carefully about their actions on the road. Thanks to the Tramline HGVs, police have been able to put a stop to these dangerous incidents that could have easily resulted in serious harm. Let us all strive to make our roads safer by being responsible drivers.
