Britain's youngest National Lottery winner, Callie Rogers, is set to go back to school to pursue her dream of becoming a nurse, after she won £1.8 million in 2003 and has since been left penniless. She has secured a place on a nursing course at the University of Central Lancashire and will start the course in September this year. The mother-of-four has previously spoken about the lack of support she was given after her big win and has now said she wants to turn her life around. She has been hit with a 22-month driving ban in 2021 and was also assaulted by two women in 2018 after a night out, leaving her unconscious with broken ribs, smashed teeth, concussion and permanent sight damage. Ms Rogers believes there should be an age limit imposed on lottery players so young people cannot be put in such a situation.
