Apartment manager in Greensboro arrested for assaulting children.
A shocking incident occurred at the Sedgefield Gardens Apartment Complex in Greensboro on Thursday, August 3. Kimberly Jennings, a 62-year-old apartment manager, was arrested after police confirmed an assault occurred on a young child.

This story contains graphic content that may be upsetting for some readers. A viral video shows a woman who looks similar to Jennings pouring soda on an 11-year-old boy, Jace Eury, and hitting him with the bottle while two other adults watched. According to Eury’s mother, Jae, her son was standing up for his sister when the assault occurred.

The Gate City Coalition is providing their support to Eury and her family, with John Awolowo, the supervisor for the West Side corridor area, lending his support to their call for Jennings to be fired. Awolowo is also concerned about how this assault will impact Jace's emotional wellbeing and is offering therapy should he need it.

The Greensboro chapter of the NAACP has also offered their full support to the family, with President Kay Brown saying “Racism will not be tolerated. Housing discrimination will not be tolerated and we stand behind the family.”

Jennings was arrested and released from custody after giving a promise to appear, according to a spokesperson from the Guilford County Sheriff’s office. Despite this, the Greensboro community is standing together behind the children and their mother, as they fight for justice. An impromptu protest outside the apartment complex occurred on Friday, August 4 as a result of the incident.
