Anthony Temple is a Black entrepreneur from the south side of Chicago who is making big moves in the business world. His hard work, ambition, and determination are a testament to his successful entrepreneurial journey.
In an exclusive interview with Afro Tech, Temple shared how his family values and motivation helped him to make it in the business world. Growing up on the south side of Chicago, Temple faced a lot of challenges and adversity. He turned to selling drugs to make money and ended up in jail at 18 years old. It was then that he decided to turn his life around and make something of himself.
In 2014, he made the big move to the West Coast. Despite his limited resources, Temple was determined to start over and build his future businesses. He leveraged his life and saved money to invest in his new ventures.
Within one year of each other, Temple opened up three different businesses inside San Diego, California’s Mission Valley Mall - Temple Barber Lounge, Temple Custom Jewelers, and Blu Temple Cigar and Wine Company. He named them ‘Temple’ after his last name, to create a family legacy that his family can be proud of.
Temple’s ambition and motivation are inspiring. He wants to be a role model for young Black kids, to show them that it is possible to succeed despite the odds. He wants to be a vessel to enter into different industries, to allow African Americans to access new opportunities.
