Alvarez decides to join Arsenal, as it is the only viable choice for a transfer.

Arsenal is currently making plans to acquire the talented Atletico Madrid forward, Julian Alvarez. Despite being their only viable option in the upcoming transfer window, reports claim that Alvarez is not interested in joining Mikel Arteta's team. Barcelona, on the other hand, has expressed their interest in the 26-year-old and even made an initial offer of €100 million to secure his services.

However, Atletico Madrid has rejected the bid, indicating their intention to keep Alvarez. Rumors have also surfaced that Arsenal is pursuing a deal for the Argentine international, with reports from Spain stating that the Premier League champions are preparing to initiate discussions with Atletico. Unfortunately, Cadena SER has reported that negotiations have reached a stalemate as Atletico refuses to negotiate with Barcelona.

This has left Arsenal as the only feasible option for Alvarez, but he remains uninterested in joining the Gunners. According to the report, Alvarez is waiting for an opportunity to join Barcelona, and Atletico is confident that he will remain with the club for the upcoming season. In fact, they are already planning for the future with the Argentine as a fundamental part of Diego Simeone's squad.

The 26-year-old, who joined Atletico from Manchester City in a record-breaking £81.5 million deal two years ago, is currently with the Argentine national team for their World Cup campaign, which kicks off against Algeria on June 17. Meanwhile, Atletico is also looking to strengthen their squad for the upcoming season and has their sights set on Chelsea left-back Marc Cucurella. The Blues are open to selling the Spanish international, but they are demanding a hefty transfer fee of €70 million.

Additionally, Atletico is also in the race to sign Bernardo Silva, who recently left Manchester City. However, they are aware that the Portuguese midfielder's preference is to join Barcelona. Another player on their midfield shortlist is Wolves' Joao Gomes.
