Mumbai: Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar held a crucial review meeting on Wednesday, directing the officials to ensure that important projects in the state are not delayed due to a lack of funds or administrative approvals. This was the second of such fortnightly meetings that Pawar has initiated to ensure the success of the projects.
The Deputy Chief Minister was joined by many officials in his project monitoring cell in Mantralaya to review some of the biggest projects in the state, such as the Pune Metro, Pune Ring Road, Pune-Nashik High-Speed Railway, Medical Colleges in Satara and Alibag, Headquarters of 'Sarathi' in Pune, Divisional Sub-centers of 'Sarathi' in Aundh, Nashik, Kolhapur, Nagpur, and Amravati.
At the meeting, Pawar urged the officials to complete the projects on a 'war footing', and discussed various aspects of the projects such as approvals from state and central government agencies, expediting the tender processes, immediate removal of encroachments obstructing development works, providing funds as required, and removing administrative as well as practical implementation obstacles.
The review meeting also covered several other projects in the Pune region such as the Krishi Bhavan, Education Commissionerate, Kamgar Kalyan Bhavan, Sahakar Bhavan, Registration Bhavan, Sugar Museum, and Indrayani Medicity. The four-laning of the Shirur-Khed-Karjat road, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Memorial at Vadhu-Tulapur, Medical Colleges in Satara, Alibag, Pune, GST Bhavan at Mumbai Bhawan, Revas-Reddy Konkan coastal Highway, and the development of Pandharpur city and Vitthal Temple area were also discussed.
The Deputy Chief Minister was given a grand welcome by the NCP faction in Pune. Everyone present in the meeting was hopeful that the projects discussed would soon be completed and be a success. It was clear that Pawar was determined to ensure the timely completion of all the projects.
