Monday, July 9: A protest march was held in the town by the United Plantation Workers Union (AITUC) demanding fulfillment of various demands.
The activists, who took out a protest march on major roads from the town's Vivekananda Circle, shouted slogans of defiance against the government. Later, they gathered near the Jessi stage and demanded fulfillment of their demands. This request was submitted to the government through the Tahsildar.
