Daisy Edgar-Jones, the talented actress known for her role in Normal People, has been making waves in Hollywood with her latest project, a thrilling cyclone action movie endorsed by none other than Tom Cruise. But even with all her success and cool girl image, Daisy hasn't been immune to embarrassing moments.
During a recent press tour for her film, Daisy opened up about a wild experience she had while trying marijuana for the first time in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. The 26-year-old actress admitted that she may have gone a little overboard with her indulgence, leading to an unexpected trip to the hospital.
In an interview with Emma Chamberlin on her podcast Anything Goes, Daisy shared the details of her mishap. She explained that she had gone on a two-week interrailing trip across Europe with her friend Nancy, and they decided to make a stop in Amsterdam to try weed. Daisy recalls, "We have to do it all, we went mental for about four days, we were doing all the brownies, going on walking tours. And on the final day, Nancy was like 'It’s our last day, we’ve got to do one.'"
However, things didn't go as planned. After trying different strains of weed, Daisy found herself in a state of panic and even passed out, causing her to wet herself. She joked that her inspiration for trying weed was a Vice documentary about Californian nuns smoking it, but it seems they may have led her astray.
Despite the embarrassing incident, Daisy has recovered well and has even returned to Amsterdam since. She hilariously recalls the menu at the café where they purchased the weed, saying, "They handed this menu over to us at one of the cafes and it had a list of stuff and I remember there was one, it had some mental name. And it had four different strains of weed and I was like yep, that’s pure."
But the experience wasn't all bad. Daisy also shared that she and Nancy had a great time laughing and enjoying themselves before things got out of hand. She said, "We were p***ing ourselves laughing for ages and ages and I wet myself. And then I had paranoid thoughts where I thought I was never going to stop laughing. And I thought I don’t like this anymore, please can this end."
Thankfully, Daisy received medical help and has fully recovered from the incident. She hasn't let it stop her from enjoying her success and her love for travel. And while she may have had a rough first experience with marijuana, Daisy hasn't ruled out trying it again in the future. As she says, "I’d do it again, but I’d do it differently."
