Madikeri, Aug. 19: A person from the district died in an accident in Bengaluru after a bus wheel came off.

Roshan (38), a former soldier and son of Balakrishna and Nagaveni, a resident of Gowda Samaj in Kushalnagar, and currently employed in a software company in Bengaluru, died.

Roshan, who lived with his wife and child at Aashirvad Apartment in Sanjay Nagar, was on his way to bring breakfast to his one-and-a-half-year-old child on Tuesday morning when he collided with a bus (KA-57-F-6468) belonging to Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) Unit 8 near Vaibhav Cinema at around 10 am.

The BMTC said in a press release that the accident occurred when the bus lost control and fell, causing the bus wheel to break off, while overtaking a bus heading towards the Satellite Bus Stand on the Mysore Road from Hebbal.

The police have sent the body for a post-mortem and have taken action, and a case has been registered against the bus driver, Kallappa Muchudi, at the Sanjay Nagar traffic police station.
