A woman teacher in Jajpur was arrested for scamming a jobseeker.
In the district of Keonjhar, a female teacher from an Ashram school was arrested by Ghashipura police on Saturday. The charges against her were for deceiving a woman and taking Rs5.65 lakh from her under the false promise of securing a job as a Panchayat Executive Officer.

Interestingly, the accused teacher's husband went into hiding after news of her arrest spread. The arrested woman was identified as Anusuya Barik, a teacher who teaches at Talapada Sevashram School in Ragadi, located in Jajpur district. She is married to a retired teacher named Rabindra Kumar Behera, and the couple resides in Janra, within the Anandapur municipal area.

This incident came to light when Madhusmita Jena, a resident of Chorgadia Gopalpur village under the Anandapur police limits, filed a complaint against Anusuya. The police stated that Anusuya had taken Rs5.65 lakh from Madhusmita, promising to secure her the job of a PEO. However, as time went by, the victim grew impatient and requested for her money to be returned. But Anusuya kept delaying and avoiding the matter.

Finally, Madhusmita decided to take action and reported the incident to Ghashipura police, which led to the arrest of Anusuya. The police are now investigating if this wasn't the first time Anusuya had committed such fraudulent activities in the past.
