A pig on the loose caused a stir near a McDonald's drive-thru.
On December 28, a wild scene unfolded outside a McDonald's restaurant in Springfield, Ohio. A large pig had run loose and could be heard grunting in a video shared by the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The pig had evaded law enforcement and the animal's owner as they tried to get it away from the McDonald’s and corral it on the street. ‘Darn it,’ one of them says in the clip. The pig continued to slow to a walk and the video pans back-and-forth from it to the McDonald’s.

When it appeared all hope was lost, the Springfield Post troopers eventually secured the swine and returned it safely to its home. A picture of an officer petting the pig on its head was shared, with another pig in a cage fastened to the truck in the background.

The Ohio State Highway Patrol remarked, ‘There was a bit of oinking around in Springfield this week after a pig got loose and went hog wild. Fortunately, Springfield Post troopers were able to assist the owner and get the insu-boar-dinate pig into custody. In the end, the trooper & pig seemed to a-boar each other.’

It wasn't the only time in December that a pig caused chaos in the US. On December 5, a pig named Albert Einswine led cops on a quarter-of-a-mile chase in Deptford Township, New Jersey. A video of the incident showed the large pig similarly on the side of the road.

The Deptford Township police department wrote, ‘Through the use of de-escalation techniques and the latest technology, officers were finally able to apprehend the suspect. The suspect was identified as Albert Einswine, a 4-year-old pig from the New Sharon section of Deptford Township. Mr Einswine was released on his own recognizance.’
