A man died in Rayagada due to diarrhoea, while four others were hospitalized.
On Monday, a heartbreaking incident took place in Gailakana village, located under Daliakuji panchayat in Rayagada district. A resident of this village, Gopal Kandamaka, 28 years old, sadly passed away at Rayagada Government Hospital while receiving treatment for diarrhoea. The news of his death has left the entire village in a state of shock and grief. Additionally, three other villagers who were also suffering from diarrhoea had to be admitted to different hospitals for treatment - one to the Government Hospital at Muniguda and the other two to Bissam Katak Christian Hospital.

The other affected villagers are identified as Kadulu Kandamaka, 40 years old, who is currently undergoing treatment at the Government Hospital at Muniguda, and Kumari Mandika, 40 years old, Milan Mandika, 18 years old, and Kabita Sabar, 12 years old, who are all receiving treatment at Bissam Katak Christian Hospital. It's a difficult time for their families and the entire community as they anxiously wait for their loved ones to recover.

According to reports, Gopal started showing symptoms of vomiting and loose motion on Sunday. Concerned for his well-being, his family immediately took him to the Government Hospital at Muniguda. However, as his condition worsened, the doctors advised that he be shifted to the Government Hospital at Rayagada. Sadly, he couldn't make it and passed away on Monday while undergoing treatment at the hospital.

Upon hearing the news, the villagers immediately informed the Bissam Katak Block Development Officer (BDO) and the Rayagada Collector about the situation. In response, three medical teams from Bissam Katak, Muniguda, and Rayagada were sent to the village to help. They distributed medicines and Oral Rehydration Solution (ORS) to the affected villagers, hoping to prevent the spread of the illness and provide relief to those in need. As the community comes together to support each other during this difficult time, they are also urging for better healthcare facilities in the village to prevent such tragedies from happening in the future.
