Have you heard about the famous Golden Retriever, Lucie, who has captured the hearts of millions with her unique "moo" sound and love for cows? This lovable pooch has been making this distinctive noise since she was just a puppy and has recently gained viral fame thanks to her owner, Cara Ovens, who shares adorable clips of Lucie on social media. At nine years old, Lucie still loves to "moo" and it's not just a random occurrence.
As Cara explains, it all started when Lucie was just ten weeks old and it has only gotten more enthusiastic over the years. In one of the viral clips, Lucie can be seen happily "mooing" at a group of cows, who are equally surprised and moo back in response. Cara, who lives in West Lothian, admits that Lucie's "moo" sometimes reminds her of a cow, but other times it sounds like a human saying "woo".
She believes that Lucie has learned that her unique noise gets a reaction from people and enjoys the attention she receives from it. But Lucie's barks are not limited to just "mooing", she can also make more typical dog sounds, although Cara believes that Lucie prefers to communicate through her special noise. Cara first started sharing clips of Lucie on her Instagram page, @luciewoos, in 2020, but it wasn't until last spring that Lucie went viral for the first time.
People were amused and intrigued by Lucie's bark and some even suggested that Cara consult a pet psychic to uncover the reasons behind it. With nearly 200k followers on Instagram, Lucie has gained quite a following for her "wooing" and Cara enjoys seeing the joy her videos bring to people. Despite her online fame, Lucie remains a happy and healthy dog who loves nothing more than spending time with her beloved owner.
Cara describes Lucie as having a big personality since she was a young puppy and it's clear that she is obsessed with her owner. As Cara says, "She makes me laugh out loud, without fail, every single day. If we can spread that joy a little bit further, that's the goal." So, don't be surprised if you start seeing more of Lucie and her lovable "moo" on your social media feed.
