According to an official, a massive fire erupted after a boiler explosion at a chemicals factory in Dombivli, Maharashtra. The factory, identified as Amudan Chemical Company, is situated in the Phase 2 area of Dombivli MIDC.

Eyewitnesses reported that the explosion was so powerful that it could be heard from a distance of one kilometre. The force of the blast caused nearby windows to shatter and several houses in the vicinity to sustain damage. The injured workers were quickly taken to a local hospital for medical treatment, as confirmed by a civic official.

Yasin Tadvi, the head of Thane's Disaster Management cell, revealed that the explosion occurred at 1:40 pm. The resulting fire spread to three nearby factories, sending thick columns of smoke and flames into the sky. The situation was declared tragic by Maharashtra's Deputy Chief Minister, Devendra Fadnavis, who also mentioned that eight people had been rescued from the premises.

Fadnavis further announced that measures had been taken to ensure proper treatment for the injured, and additional ambulances were on standby. He also stated that the Thane collector had been informed and was en route to the scene. The National Disaster Response Force, the Thane Disaster Response Force, and the fire department were all summoned for assistance.

The Disaster Management Cell of Thane's municipal body, along with 13 personnel from the Thane Disaster Response Force, arrived at the location to lend their expertise. The official added that efforts were actively being made to contain the fire.
