60 students in Odisha were hospitalized due to consuming mid-day meal.

Out of these 60 students, 25 were in a critical condition and were immediately taken to the nearby health centre by the teachers and villagers.

Thankfully, after receiving preliminary treatment, 15 students were discharged from the hospital. As for the remaining 10 students, they were also discharged in the evening after their condition improved. According to Jharsuguda CDMO Jayakrushna Nayak, the cause of these students falling ill was due to food poisoning. This unfortunate incident has caused great concern and anger among the parents of these students, who are now demanding action against the school authorities.

In response to this, Jharsuguda Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane has directed a team to be formed under the guidance of Jharsuguda DEO to thoroughly investigate the incident.
