It's been 30 years since the Sanderson sisters first graced our screens and now they're back! To celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Disney classic Hocus Pocus, the film will be showing in over 100 UK cinemas from 29th September.
Fans of the original film, which is about a trio of 17th century witches brought back to life to wreak havoc in the town of Salem, Massachusetts, have already had a treat with the release of a sequel last year. Starring Sarah Jessica Parker, Kathy Najimy and Bette Midler, Hocus Pocus 2 was received with much praise from fans and even had some in tears by the end of it.
So, what about Hocus Pocus 3? Good news, Hocus Pocus fans as Disney boss Sean Bailey has confirmed that the project is in development. There are currently no details on when the third instalment of the hit franchise will be released or who will be starring in it, but Bette Midler has made her feelings very clear. She said “After 30 years with no sequel to Hocus Pocus I’ve always been envious of people who get to do their favourite character more than once,” and added that she would “love to have a franchise — especially a character I love playing.”
In the meantime, you can catch the original movie at Vue, Showcase and Cineworld cinemas across the country from Friday or stream it on Disney+.
So, if you've been missing the Sanderson sisters, now's your chance to see them on the big screen again or relive their adventures!
