Vidisha: On Tuesday, a terrible incident occurred in Kajri Barkheda village of Vidisha district when a 2-year-old girl, Asmita, daughter of Inder Singh, fell into an open borewell in the courtyard of a house. As soon as the news was received, the district administration, along with the police, jumped into action and swung into rescue operation.
SDM of the district, Harshal Chowdhary, reached the spot and rescue operation was commenced with the help of a JCB machine to dig around the borewell. The team also tried to get the girl out of the borewell by using a rope. Further details are awaited.
This incident comes after a similar heart-breaking incident that happened last month in Sehore, where a 2.5-year-old girl, Shrishti, fell into an open borewell. A joint rescue operation was carried out by the SDRF, NDRF, Robot and digging machines, however, the rescue efforts went on for 55 hours and Shrishti could not be saved.
It is extremely unfortunate that such incidents are happening in our society. We hope the authorities are able to rescue the toddler in Vidisha and put an end to this tragedy.
