2 fatalities, 1 in critical condition after Daspalla road accident.
On a fateful Saturday, tragedy struck the peaceful town of Nayagarh district as two individuals lost their lives in a tragic road accident. The incident took place at Dihagaon Chhaka, under the jurisdiction of the Daspalla police. Reports state that the accident also left another person critically injured and in need of immediate medical attention.

The two unfortunate souls who lost their lives were identified as Shukra Baju and Sudarshan Pradhan, both residents of the Dihagaon village. The critically injured bike rider was identified as Dibyajyoti Panda from Mukhakhanda. According to police reports, Dibyajyoti had embarked on a trip to Daspalla to purchase clothes for the upcoming Ganesh Puja. However, on his return journey, tragedy struck near the Dihagaon market. It is reported that Dibyajyoti first collided with Shukra Baju, who was crossing the road to relieve himself, and then hit Sudarshan, who was standing near a shop.

Fortunately, the locals came to the rescue and immediately rushed all the injured individuals, including Dibyajyoti, to the Daspalla Community Health Centre. However, the doctor on duty declared Sudarshan dead upon arrival. Shukra, who was in critical condition, was referred to the Nayagarh District Headquarters Hospital. Sadly, he also succumbed to his injuries, as pronounced by the doctor on duty. Dibyajyoti, on the other hand, was transferred to a hospital in Bhubaneswar for further treatment as his condition continued to deteriorate. Thankfully, he is currently recuperating well.

Preliminary investigations by the Daspalla police have revealed that the accident was caused due to reckless driving and over speeding. This serves as a grim reminder for everyone to always practice safe and responsible driving on the roads. Let us all take a moment to mourn the loss of these two individuals and pray for a speedy recovery for Dibyajyoti. May their souls rest in peace.
