18 meter readers' services were ended due to neglect of duties.
Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh Madhya Kshetra Vidyut Vitaran Company Limited has taken a strong stance against negligence of duty by terminating the services of 18 out sourced electric meter readers and deducting the salaries of 127 meter readers. Additionally, 78 meter readers have been issued warnings. Employees posted in Rajgarh, Bhind, Ashok Nagar, Narmadapura, Datia, Shivpuri, and Betul have been terminated. Six employees in Bhopal and 5 in Gwalior have faced similar action.

Managing Director Ganesh Shankar Mishra has directed the field officers and employees to ensure that bills are issued on the basis of meter reading only. He has also directed officials to monitor the work of the meter readers through the Nishtha App and take action against those found negligent in their duties.

Photo meter reading is being done through the Nishtha App, which does not require any human intervention. A photo of the reading recorded in the meter is taken and uploaded on the system.
