A tragic event has struck the small town of San Jose, California. On October 24th, a 15-year-old boy driving a stolen 2008 Nissan sedan was involved in a hit-and-run that took the life of a beloved and pregnant preschool teacher, April Zoglauer.
The 21-year-old April had been working at Play ‘N’ Learn Preschool for many years, having started as a teenage volunteer. Tammy Lariz, co-owner of the preschool, said of April, “Her job was just to love on them, and she was good at it. Honestly, I’ve been doing this for 27 years, and I’ve never had somebody else who could do that job. Not the way she could do it.” April had been 27 weeks pregnant when she was killed, and doctors at a nearby hospital were able to deliver her baby, Devontae Aaron Zoglauer, via an emergency C-section.
